The film stars Chris Hemsworth, George Segal, Lainie Kazan, Norman Reedus, Rachel Nichols, Samm Levine, and Zach Mills and is an off-the-wall comedy set around the dinner table. What at first glance seems like an awkward ‘meet the parents’ situation for Dade Klublershturf quickly turns into a game of cat and mouse between Nazis, his boy genius younger brother, Ollie, and a time machine (disguised as an Atari joy stick) the Nazis are trying to capture from him…

“Idiots” is directed by Katherine Coiro starring Zoe Saldana, Kate Bosworth, Janeane Garofalo, Greg Grunberg, Jason Lewis, Victor Webster and Bruce Cole A bartender. A regular. Two hot girls and two hot guys. What happens is anyone’s guess.

Buddy Becker: Celebrity Assistant
Written and Directed by Ryan Devlin and Steven Craig Oliver
Buddy Becker is the greatest celebrity assistant Hollywood has ever seen. From Robert Downey Jr. to Mickey Rourke, Buddy turns the biggest of train wrecks into the greatest of comebacks. But is there hope for Married With Children’s David Faustino? Probably not. But that won’t stop Buddy from taking on the challenge of a lifetime.

A donut shop full of hostages look to a reluctant security guard to save them from two trigger happy sociopaths.

East River
Directed by Marc Grey (questopher@gmail.com)
East river explores the interaction between physical and emotional spaces and their effect on the individual. Following the wanderings of a man recently arrived to New York, east river paints an uncommon portrayal of the city and its inhabitants. When the protagonist begins an affair with a beautiful Brooklynite, his sense of place evolves and the audience is challenged to reconcile traditional notions of romance and intimacy with Goethe’s “frightening conclusion” that the subjective experience is “the decisive element.”

Lychee Thieves

Written and Directed by Kathleen Man (kathleen@fishbowlfilms.org)
Four local Hawaiian characters clash in Lychee Thieves, a short film inspired by a newspaper article about a lychee robbery in Hawai’i. Keoki, a Hawaiian man who picks fruit between jobs, offers to pick Arnie and Ethel’s ripe lychee tree. Arnie refuses, but suspects that Keoki will return and steal his lychee, probably with the help of Mrs. Chun, the Chinese widow next door who has been eyeing the branches hanging into her yard. Paranoid, Arnie arranges for a professional trimmer to come the next day and strip the tree of its fruit as quickly as possible, no matter what the consequences. The night before the harvest, Keoki, Ethel and Mrs. Chun have troubling dreams about the fate of the tree, but wake with no recollection of their dreams’ warning. The next day, it is up to Keoki to break a longstanding cycle of fear and save the “mana” (spiritual power) of the tree.

HAYDENFILMS RETURNS AS MAJOR SUPPORTER OF HOLLYSHORTS 2010

HollyShorts Festival Also Will Provide Content for Haydenfilms Expanded 2012 Online Film Festival

Hollywood, California—Haydenfilms, which recently established its non-profit Haydenfilms Institute (www.haydenfilmsinstitute.org) with offices here and at Reading, Pa., will return as a major supporter of the highly popular and expanding HollyShorts Film Festival.

HollyShorts (www.hollyshorts.com) will take place here from August 5-12, 2010 and feature a marquee opening night world premiere event, short film and feature film screenings, as well as industry panels and exclusive receptions and parties, according to festival directors Daniel Sol and Theo Dumont.

Hayden Craddolph, president of the Haydenfilms Institute, said that HollyShorts has also agreed to submit entries to its 2010 and 2011 festivals to the next Haydenfilms Institute 5.0 Online Film Festival in the fall of 2012, which will offer a $25,000 grand prize to the best film selected by public voting.

“This is truly a win-win opportunity for both the Haydenfilms Institute and HollyShorts to showcase the world’s best offerings in short films (30 minutes or less). It is especially important to us because the Haydenfilms Online Festival will have a much greater number of global entries to consider.” Last year’s HollyShorts event drew 750 entries from 25 countries.

For more details on entering the Haydenfilms Institute’s 2012 Online Festival, visit www.haydenfilmsinstitute.org.

On the heels of 2009’s most successful HollyShorts Film Festival to date–which featured participation from such stars and filmmakers as Demi Moore, Kirsten Dunst, Darren Lew, Eli Roth, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Joel Moore, and Tom Everett Scott—Sol and Dumont said the official deadline to submit U.S. and international short films for 2010 festival is April 16, 2010. The late deadline is May 14.

Submissions must be 30 minutes or less. Categories include live action, animation, documentary, student, webisode and music video. HollyShorts also has a discounted category for student projects.

Submissions can now be completed directly online by visiting www.hollyshorts.com or by submitting on Withoutabox directly at www.withoutabox.com/login/4655. Information is also available through the HollyShorts hotline at 818-760-9897 818-760-9897 or by email to staff@hollyshorts.com.

At the 5th Annual HollyShorts Film Festival in August 2009, top honors for Best Short Film went to “La Petite Lilia,” directed by Reda Mustafa. Mustafa took home a prize package from Clifton Production Services which included a RED ONE digital cinema package valued up to $5,000.00, while Johnny Gill took home a $10,000 cash prize for the Haydenfilms 4.0 Online Film Festival contest for his short film “My Turtle’s Name is Dudley.” Mustafa also won the grand prize in the 3.0 Haydenfilms Online Festival.

Last year, Haydenfilms also presented its first Indie Film Visionary Award to Eli Roth, who co-starred in “Inglorious Basterds.” Following the screening of Roth’s director’s cut of “Cabin Fever” at the 2009 HollyShorts Festival, he was able to release the cut on Blu Ray Disc, which is now being sold in stores. Haydenfilms will present the Indie Film Visionary Award this year.

About Haydenfilms:

Founded in 2001 by Craddolph, Haydenfilms began as an independent film production and distribution company with the mission of fostering an online network of indepndent and student filmmakers and giving them the support and resources necessary for success. In 2005, Craddolph introduced his film festival, one of the first online and the only one offering a $10,000 grand prize.

This year, Craddolph won approval to establish the non-profit Haydenfilms Institute with offices on the West and East coasts. It is expected that tax deductible contributions and grants will enable Haydenfilms Institute to greatly expand its educational, networking and other programs for independent filmmakers and short films.
